Origins

Born out of the University of Oxford, Run3D motion capture technology is changing the game for physiotherapists. Using innovative and industry leading technology allows us incredible and accurate insight into diagnosis and prevention of pain, injury, and performance improvement.

3D Gait Analysis - How it works

Using small reflective markers attached to your legs and shoes in specific places, infrared cameras capture the position of these markers 200x per second, using the data to create accurate 3D modelling of your walk and running gait.

Using a treadmill, you will walk or run, capturing your movements exactly in real-time.

Whilst accurately measuring the 3D movements at your pelvis, hips, knees, and ankles, we compare your results to a database of uninjured controls in real-time. This enables us to immediately identify any asymmetry and abnormal patterns in your gait.

Musculoskeletal testing

Following your 3D motion analysis the physiotherapist will then carry-out a series of objective clinical tests to identify strength, range of motion, alignment, and function of your joints and muscles.

By combining the results of your gait analysis and musculoskeletal tests, we have all the information we need to understand how and why your body is moving the way it is and put in place detailed treatment or performance plans.
